Magdalena Arias Vásquez is a bilingual writer and translator.

 

Her writing has appeared in AGNI, Poetry Northwest, Antología V del Festival Internacional del Libro de Nueva York (FILNYC), and elsewhere. She has received fellowships and awards from PEN America, Brooklyn Poets, the Association of Writers and Writing Programs, among others. 

 

She was a finalist for an American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) fellowship; her translations can be found in Revista Anfibia (Argentina), Asymptote Journal, and The Common.  Born and raised in Panama City, Panama, she has since called many places home. She is currently a graduate student at the University of Cambridge, studying literature, among other things.
